New schools are being designed that are less akin to prisons, where students race down sterile halls to make it to class before the bell.
A new generation of school buildings is emerging, one that reflects changing attitudes in how to manage and educate school-aged kids. New common areas with leather couches and artificial lawns have some new schools looking more like trendy offices.
