Taller Basico De Arquitectura has created Biokilab Laboratories in Alava, Minano Mayor, Spain. The laboratory building is located in the technological Park of Vitoria. The steepness of the site and maintenance of the beautiful landscape were challenges for the architects so they decided to raise the box-shaped buildings onto pillars. The various heights of the columns allowed them to create an even and level facility and utilize as much of the greenery in the area into their design. The rectangular cement building is juxtaposed by the red colored pillars and grass below. The interior was designed to be a flexible space for research and other activities. The two volumes coexist with one another and nature peacefully and are a unique take on scientific architecture.
