ddrlp architecture firm has proposed their entry in a competition for a daily child care facility in Turkey. The design by ddrlp “consists of creative components for a building while being formed by multiple relations”. The school will house between 75 to 150 children between the ages of 0 and 6. The designers focused on creating spaces for individual and group learning, social interaction sites, the relationship between sun, sky, and the seasonal – natural cycle, and the interaction between light, color, texture, material, shape, and structure. The structure is built to a scale that children can easily relate to, and uses bright and imaginative shapes and colors that are appealing both to children and to the instructors.
