A large pharmaceutical corporation in Warsaw, Poland has employed 137kilo Architekci to create their new headquarters. The company “wanted the office space to highlight the company’s scientific heritage while providing a high quality working environment for its employees”. The pharmaceutical company mainly does research and manufactures contact lenses and associated products, so the dome-like shape of contacts was the main inspiration source for the architects. The interior is almost entirely white, glass and concrete, broken up by plants and wall vegetation. The designers included movable curtains, to make the space multi-functional and dynamic while also providing a sense of homeyness and creating private rooms out of large public areas. One of the most interesting features are the clear domes within the office. Clearly derived from contact lenses, the steel and inflatable clear material structures are meant for “less formal work meetings”.
