Grimshaw Architects is designing the new Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science in Miami, Florida. It is set to be finished in 2015 and is on its way to becoming the world’s most innovative and sustainable science museum. “The 250,000 square foot complex will harness energy from water, sun, wind and even museum visitors to power exhibits and conserve resources.” The museum will be build around a living core of terrestrial and aquatic environments. The complex will include an aquarium with more than 500,000 gallons of tank water, a planetarium, interactive exhibits, new technology, and additional wings for exhibitions, a learning center, and museum cafes.
