Kulturbau to house library, museum, and tourist information Kulturbau to house library, museum, and tourist information

As part of a redevelopment of the central square of Koblenz, the dutch firm Benthem Crouwel Architects have designed two buildings, a shopping mall and  the Kulturbau, which will house the public library, Mittelrhein Museum, and tourist information for the city. These two buildings are independent structures separated by the “Zentralplatz,” which, all together, creates an easily accessible open square with three functions. One can enter the museum and tourist information by the spiral staircases, the library by its escalators, or the central lobby through one of the entrances available from all sides.
