MAD Arkitekter and developer Entra have created a project that will relocate the University of Oslo’s Faculty of Law building. Many historic buildings that are a part of the university will be either moved or preserved, and several new buildings will be added. “The new buildings for UIO are given compact form, with frontage towards Tullinløkka as well as an iconic expression which takes a position in the cityscape”. The university’s buildings can be seen from virtually everywhere in the small city of Oslo, and the site is in one of the most urban neighborhoods. The new structures will keep in context with the university’s historic buildings as well as the Royal Castle, the National Theatre, the Parliament and other government buildings, and town hall.
