New york new york casino on The Strip, Las vegas Nevada By: Wouter Kiel
The MGM Grand in Las Vegas has plans to build a New York-style park and promenade outside of the Monte Carlo and New York-New York casinos at the cost of $100 million. “Bringing a little East Coast landscape architecture out to the desert,he (Jim Murren, CEO of the MGM Grand) hopes to counter the long-held mindset of keeping visitors close to home base”. The green plaza is set to include a replica of the Brooklyn Bridge, Hershey’s Chocolate World, shade trees, a beer garden, food trucks, and the beloved New York-based eatery Shake Shack. The project will rest on Tropicana Avenue and lead to a 200,000 seat stadium. The design is by Cooper, Robertson & Partners.
