The New York Times put out a really nice interactive piece today titled “A Short History of the Highrise”. Using photos from the Times’ rich archives, the feature traces the history of highrise structures all the way back from the earliest mud structures and cave dwellings to the latest glass towers across North and South America, Europe, and Asia. You can drill down a bit in each section to learn more about the historical period and see more pictures. All in all, it is a fun piece that doesn’t take long to view.
