Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) has released their plans for Singapore’s tallest tower. The skyscraper is one part of a mixed-use project in the Tanjong Pagar business district. The architects’ proposal is a 64 story tower with offices and commercial spaces on the lower floors and luxury apartments on the top portion of the building. A smaller building will also be created next to the tower and will house a business hotel with restaurants, a conference center, and a pool with views of Tanjong Pagar City Park. Another building will contain the parking structure, shops, other restaurants, entertainment, and an outdoor space for public art and performances. SOM is accustomed to record-breaking projects such as the tallest building in the world in Dubai.
