Situ Studio, a Brooklyn based architecture firm comprised of four former Cooper Union students, has opened the fifth edition of Times Squares’ yearly Heartwalk installation. The project is a heart shaped space created out of debris from the ruined boardwalks in The Rockaways, NY, Long Beach, NY, and Atlantic City, NJ. The studio was inspired by the “collective experience of Hurricane Sandy and the love that binds people during trying times”. The HeartWalkTSQ website collects photos of friends and couples in the “heart room” from Instagram hashtags.
