It’s always great to see classic lab buildings getting the love they deserve. The University of Michigan Memorial Phoenix Laboratory was originally built in 1955. Now, Lord Aeck Sargent (LAS) has designed an $11 million dollar renovation of the facility that will house the University of Michigan Energy Institute. The facility will be dedicated to furthering research into green energy sources.
The structure is built to be cutting-edge and highly flexible, with over 80% of its cabinets and work surfaces set to be mobile.
